On St Georges Day the newly formed St Neots Branch of the Royal Society of Saint George held a celebration at the Barley Mow Pub in St Neots. The event was well attended and all there enjoyed traditional roast beef and toasted St.George.
The Queen is the patron of the Society which was founded in 1894 and aims to promote “Englishness” and the English way of life. Members of the new St Neots Branch hope to arrange future celebrations of St Georges Day and Trafalgar Day and encourage others groups and individuals in the town to join with them in promoting the celebration of England.
Anyone interested in joining the Royal Society of St George in St Neots, attending future events or would like more information should call 01480 212540 or e-mail saint.george@ntlworld.com.
